Toronto Police say one person is dead and two others are in hospital with serious injuries following a Friday night shooting in North York.

Police said on social media reports of a shooting were called in shortly after 11 p.m. in the Jane St. and Sheppard Ave. W. area.
One victim was located by officers and pronounced dead at the scene, cops said. Two others were found with gunshot wounds and transported to hospital with serious injuries.
Police say this is an ongoing investigation and an update will be provided Saturday afternoon.

Second fatal shooting this week
This is the city’s 18th homicide of the year and second fatal shooting this week.
On Monday afternoon, officers responded to a call for an unknown trouble in the Victoria Park Ave. and Hwy. 401 area, police said.
When cops arrived at the scene, a man was found with a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead.
Police identified the victim Wednesday as 32-year-old Levon Byers of Toronto.
Hakim El Mozazi, 28, of Toronto was charged with second-degree murder as well as four firearm offences.
