Just before 8 p.m. on Sunday, Gatineau police officers responded to a call about a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Gréber Boulevard, between Chemin de la Savane and Louis-Riel Street.

A 75-year-old woman was taken by Gatineau paramedics to hospital, where she was pronounced dead. In a news release Monday, police said paramedics had also treated the driver of the vehicle for shock.

On Saturday just after 9 a.m., officers had attended the scene of a vehicle-pedestrian collision on Boulevard de l’Hôpital. Police said a 64-year-old Gatineau woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries and remained in critical condition on Monday.

The driver of the vehicle was issued a ticket for “entering the public highway without ensuring that there was no danger,” the release stated.
