After his final breakup with on-off girlfriend, model Kim Porter, he entered into a new relationship with singer Cassie in 2007. This relationship lasted more than a decade, with the couple eventually breaking up in 2018. She moved on with her life and got married to Alex Fine in 2019.

However, in 2023, she shocked the entire industry when she accused the singer of severe abuse throughout their relationship. Cassie sued the rapper for a staggering $30 million, but interestingly, they reached an out-of-court settlement just the next day. On the same, attorney Neama Rahmani added in an interview:

This has to be one of the fastest settlements in American history. We’re talking about one day. (Further) The reason that this lawsuit was settled was probably the reason that it was filed in the first place. Cassie ran out of time.

The lawyer also added that, given these accusations are a bit older, Cassie might have been running out of time. So, the out-of-court settlement seemed like the most feasible decision given the circumstances.

On Diddy, Rahmani added that with his reputation on the line, he didn’t think twice before settling the matter as soon as possible. This plays an important role in Diddy’s current net worth, which has fallen to $600 million from last year’s $900 million.

What was the reason for Jennifer Lopez and Diddy’s break-up?

Diddy had several high-profile relationships, but the one with pop icon Jennifer Lopez was definitely the talk of the town. The duo was at the top of their fields, with Diddy being a top record producer. And Lopez being one of the most sought-after singers in the industry. They started dating in 1999 but eventually called it quits after three years in 2001.

There were rumors that the rapper wasn’t faithful in his relationship with the singer. She added to the same in a 2003 interview. Lopez said:

But even this relationship with the rapper wasn’t without controversies. During their relationship, while visiting a nightclub, the rapper got into an altercation with somebody, and shots were fired. After this Diddy and Lopez escaped from the club but were eventually tracked down and arrested.

This was also one of the main reasons why even her mother, Guadalupe, disapproved of their relationship. She further made her feelings known in a Wendy Williams interview when the host asked Lopez if she’d ever get together with the rapper again.

When the camera moved towards her mother, she shook her head in a firm no, adding that the relationship was over and there was no scope for reconciliation now. Given Diddy’s recent troubles, it’s safe to say that Lopez’s mother definitely knew better what was good for her daughter.
