Olivia Munn and John Mulaney welcome baby No. 2 via surrogate after actress’ breast cancer journey

Olivia Munn and John Mulaney are parents again!

The “X-Men: Apocalypse” actress and her husband took to Instagram on Sunday to announce the arrival of their daughter, who was born via surrogate.

“Méi June Mulaney came into the world September 14, 2024, the year of the dragon,” Munn, 44, began in the caption of the birth announcement.

“I am so proud of my little plum, my little dragon for making the journey to be with us,” Munn added in the caption. “My heart has exploded.” Instagram/@oliviamunn

The proud mom then went on to explain her emotional experience with her surrogate.

“I had so many profound emotions about not being able to carry my daughter. When I first met our gestational surrogate we spoke mother to mother. She showed me so much grace and understanding, I knew I had found a real-life angel,” Munn wrote.

“Words cannot express my gratitude that she kept our baby safe for 9 months and made our dreams come true.”

The Hollywood couple also welcomed their son, Malcolm, in November 2021.

Munn then revealed the meaning behind their newborn daughter’s name.

“I am so proud of my little plum, my little dragon for making the journey to be with us. My heart has exploded,” she gushed. “Méi (pronounced may) means plum in Chinese.”

The “New Girl” alum, who married Mulaney in July, posed alongside the comedian, 42, while holding Méi in her arms.

The photo carousel also included a sweet family snapshot with the couple’s son, Malcolm, who they welcomed in November 2021.

The “Big Mouth” actor also shared the birth announcement on his Instagram, however he slightly tweaked his wife’s caption.

“We stole so much stuff from the hospital. I love my little girl so much,” Mulaney captioned the photos with Méi and Malcolm.

The arrival of the couple’s second child came 10 days after Munn shared her breast cancer timeline on Instagram.

“My breast cancer timeline,” Munn captioned the post on Sept. 4.

“I’ve gotten a lot of questions about this and I’ve wanted to make this video for those asking for a while but I’ve been filming, finishing filming, running after a toddler and starting a new medication. Thank you for your patience and understanding.”

The newly minted mother of two first went public with her breast cancer diagnosis in March. Munn underwent a double mastectomy and documented her experience via Instagram.

“I hope by sharing this it will help others find comfort, inspiration and support on their own journey,” she penned in the caption of the announcement this past spring.
