After brining in NYCFC's James Sands and SC Freiburg's Noah Weißhaupt on loan, FC St. Pauli have also completed the rumored deal to acquire Gambian striker Abdoulie Ceesay. The 20-year-old arrives from Gambian club Real de Banjul for an undisclosed transfer fee.

Ceesay recently worked on loan in Estonia, where he scored 17 goals and contributed seven assists in 23 competitive appearances for Paide Linnameeskond. The African attacker brings with him Conference League experience. He scored three and set up two goals in six appearances.

“Abdoulie has a very exciting combination of technical and physical skills," St. Pauli top personnel executive Andreas Boremann noted in a statement. "He is still young and has always adapted quickly to the level at his previous clubs. That's why we are convinced that he will quickly take the steps to recommend himself for Bundesliga appearances with us. At the same time, we want to give him the time he needs to get used to football in Germany.”

“I'm very happy to have the chance to prove myself in the Bundesliga," the player himself added, "I had very good conversations with the coach and the sporting director and am convinced that FC St. Pauli is the right club for me to develop further. This is a big step and I will do my best to get used to the level as quickly as possible.”
