A week before the start of the 2. Bundesliga campaign, St. Pauli confirmed the signing of Finnish international Rony Jansson from Kalmar FF.  The 22-year-old made his international debut last month in a 2-1 defeat to Hungary.

Jansson will replace Manolis Saliakas, who completed his move to Olympiacos. He spent the last three seasons at Allsvenskan club Kalmar FF, including scoring three goals in 14 appearances last term.

The right-back captained Finland youth national teams from the U18 up to the U21 level. St. Pauli will start their league campaign at home against Greuther Fürth next week. After Alexander Blessin’s side finished bottom of Bundesliga, ex-Holstein Kiel coach Marcel Rapp was appointed as the new St. Pauli boss.

Fellow Finnish international Santeri Väänänen joined Karlsruhe from Rosenborg BK earlier this week.
