Hannover 96 have confirmed the permanent transfer of Daisuke Yokota from Belgian Super League side KAA Gent.
The second division club from Lower Saxony has activated the purchase clause for the versatile midfielder to ensure he remains.
In doing so, the 26-year-old has pledged his future to Hannover with a contract which runs up until the summer of 2029.
Last season, the Japanese native featured in 28 games across the 2. Bundesliga, contributing a share of 5 goals and 4 assists.
"Daisuke played a good first season in the [Hannover] 96 jersey and scored important goals for the team.
"Therefore, it was clear to us very early on that we wanted to exercise our option to sign him permanently.
“We are delighted that we were able to secure a player of this high quality,” H96 sporting director, Ralf Becker, explained.
