Official: FC Augsburg activate Ribeiro's release clause from Sporting Lisbon

The 21-year-old is now a permanent fixture at the WWK Arena and can look forward to another season in the Bundesliga.

FC Augsburg have confirmed that Rodrigo Ribeiro will continue to represent the Bavarian club into next season on a permanent basis.

Ribeiro's purchase clause at Sporting Lisbon has been activated by Augsburg, tying the attacker to a long-term contract until 2031.

The 21-year-old made 14 appearances in the Bundesliga for FCA in the second half of the season, scoring two goals in total.

Furthermore, the talented striker even made his international debut for the Portuguese U-21 team as recently as March. 

“Rodrigo has made a very good impression over the past few months and shown what potential he possesses,” said sporting director Benni Weber.

"He has also impressed us as a person and his style is a great fit for FCA. We are delighted to continue our journey together.

“With his speed, his ability to make runs in behind the defense, and his finishing ability, he brings qualities that suit our style of play.

“At the same time, his development aligns with our approach of specifically promoting and developing young talent”.
