SpVgg Greuther Fürth has extended Dennis Srbeny's contract, which was due to expire at the end of the season, by another year.

Since moving to Fürth in the summer of 2023, Srbeny has become one of the 2.Bundesliga team's most experienced leaders.

In 92 competitive matches for the club, despite now primarily playing in central midfield, has scored 9 goals and provided 10 assists.

This season, Srbeny has also worn the captain's armband several times towards the end of games as Fürth secured their survival.

“Dennis is an important player for me. He understands the game, I can rely on him both on and off the pitch.

"With Julian [Green] and Branimir [Hrgota] no longer with us, both long-serving players, his role in the locker room is even more crucial.

"He uses his experience to guide the younger players and always acts in the best interests of the team.

“That's why I'm very happy that we extended his contract," said Greuther Fürth coach Heiko Vogel after the deal was agreed.
