Nick Cannon is clearing up the idea that he has a favorite among the mothers of his children.

Cannon’s comments come as questions continue surrounding his relationships with the six mothers of his 12 children. His bond with Bre Tiesi has received particular attention because of how openly they discuss their connection.

Nick Cannon has described his relationship with Bre Tiesi in unusually close terms. The pair share a four-year-old son, Legendary, while Cannon also shares children with Mariah Carey, Brittany Bell, Abby De La Rosa, LaNisha Cole and Alyssa Scott.

Nick Cannon Says Bre Tiesi Understands Him The Most

Cannon recently addressed the idea that he has a favorite among the six mothers of his children. He insisted that he does not rank the women, but admitted Tiesi probably understands him more than anyone else. He also described their relationship as a safe space where both people accept each other.

“I don’t have favorites, but if I had to say the person who probably understands me the most would be Bre,” Cannon said. He explained that they call each other “twin flames” because Tiesi accepts all of him. He added that he accepts everything that she is as well.

In his cover story, US Magazine reported that Cannon described the relationship as a place where there is a “safe haven.” He said they “just really get along” and have a closeness he does not believe he shares with anyone else. Tiesi had also praised Cannon on Father’s Day as “The best man, partner, and most importantly, father.”

Cannon said Tiesi’s loyalty is another reason their relationship feels different to him. He described her as “a ride or die” and someone he would want beside him in a difficult situation. Despite saying he has no favorite, Cannon admitted that Tiesi “definitely holds a special place in my heart.”

Cannon continued explaining what makes his connection with Tiesi different from his other relationships. He said there is a closeness and understanding between them that he probably does not have with anybody else.

He also emphasized how strongly he values her loyalty. “She don’t play about me,” Cannon said while describing Tiesi’s attitude toward him. He explained that she has always been “10 toes down” and that her loyalty cannot be bought. Cannon said he is “super grateful” for the way she accepts him.

The entertainer has also been married only once, to Mariah Carey. The former couple tied the knot in 2008 and finalized their divorce in 2016, but Cannon said they remain amicable. He also explained why he does not expect to marry again.

“I don’t like the government in my love life,” Cannon said. He explained that he prefers being fluid and does not want to go through the legal process of marriage again. Cannon said his experience getting out of marriage made him feel he would not repeat it.

Nick Cannon Says He Has A Soul Connection With All Six Mothers

Cannon had already addressed the favorite baby mama speculation several months earlier. On June 9, 2026, he spoke about the theories during an appearance on “The Breakfast Club.” The discussion specifically focused on claims that Tiesi was his favorite.

Cannon explained that Tiesi’s public visibility can make their relationship appear more prominent. He pointed out that she is already a public figure whose work requires her to share much of her life online.

The entertainer emphasized that seeing them together frequently does not mean she is his only close connection. The Blast shared that Cannon said his goal is “to love everyone as equally as possible.” 

He explained that he feels a soul connection with all the mothers of his children. Cannon also rejected the traditional idea of having one soulmate because he clearly does not have “a one and only.” He maintained that his emotional connections extend across the mothers of his children.

Tiesi recently offered another look into the family dynamic while discussing her relationship with Cannon’s other co-parents. During a September 22, 2026 appearance on “E!’s Hot Goss” podcast, she rejected the idea that the mothers operate as one large co-parenting group. She said her attempts to build closer relationships with some of them had not worked.

“There is no ‘we’—we don’t balance anything,” Tiesi said. She explained that she tries to be nice but has previously attempted different ways of connecting with the other mothers. According to Tiesi, those efforts ultimately became too difficult to maintain.

Complex revealed that she now wants to remove herself from those adult relationships so the children can maintain their own connections. She said, “I’m just going to remove myself so that the children can have the best relationship.” Tiesi also said Cannon needs to “step up” and create an environment that supports the children.

The mother of one also ruled out having another child with Cannon. She joked that Legendary already has 11 siblings to spend time with. “Leggie’s not getting another sibling. I am done,” she said.

Tiesi Reveals She Does Not Feel Threatened By Nick Cannon’s Other Women

Tiesi has also spoken about why Cannon’s relationships with other women do not make her feel threatened. During a March 11, 2026 appearance on Paul C. Brunson’s We Need to Talk podcast, she explained why their non-monogamous relationship works for her. She said she focuses on her own relationship rather than outside circumstances.

“It’s just so healthy and normal,” Tiesi said during the conversation. She explained that Cannon’s children are welcome into her life and that this is where she draws her boundary.

The 35-year-old also acknowledged that Cannon has relationships with several other women. Tiesi said she knows what her relationship with Cannon is and believes nobody else can have exactly what they share. 

She said she is “cool with a majority of the women,” while admitting that emotions can still become complicated. Tiesi made clear that she cannot control how other people feel. The model said holidays have been the closest she has come to feeling jealous about Cannon’s other relationships.

Her concern, however, was mainly about Legendary spending time with his siblings. Tiesi said she sometimes wished Cannon would bring their son along when he traveled with the other families, as per Billboard.
