The Buffalo Bills appear to have made a strong statement in the ongoing trade war between Canada and the United States with social-media announcement on Wednesday. The NFL team announced that when it opens its new $2.2-billion stadium for regular-season football next week, there will be some added Canadian flavour.
How Sportsnet just made watching the Maple Leafs more expensive for fans
In announcing details of its broadcast plans on Wednesday, Sportsnet revealed that its Monday Night Hockey national schedule no longer will be available free to the majority of cable subscribers in the country. Instead, the package will “stream exclusively on Sportsnet+,” meaning those who don’t already subscribe to the streaming service (or are Rogers customers) will have to dig into their pockets for as much as $12.95 per month to see a substantial portion of the schedule.

Dr. Khadiga Metwally, whose son Abdulrahman El-Bahnasawy pleaded guilty in March 2019 to seven counts of terrorism and was sentenced to 40 years in a U.S. federal prison, is now running to be a trustee for the Halton District Board of Education in Milton wards 1 and 2. In a campaign form she filled out for Milton Today, she said one of her pillars is “timely mental-health support is also essential; personal family experience has shown me the value of early understanding, compassionate support, and appropriate intervention.”

Canada’s government is holding a cabinet planning forum in Banff, Alta., on Sept. 10 and 11 at the Fairmont Banff Springs hotel. While not as expensive as lodging can be in Tuscany, Italy, where Prime Minister Mark Carney vacationed this summer, staying at that Canadian castle is certainly not affordable. They could have had these meetings in Ottawa or by a Zoom call.
