“My heart can’t take it”: Half Life 3 Rumors Continue To Grow With Even More Planned Features Emerging

For nearly two decades at this point, fans of the legendary Half Life franchise have been clamoring for a continuation of the story with Half Life 3. Valve’s silence on the issue, mixed with the series’ iconic status, has turned the much-requested sequel into one of the most enduring and popular memes in the gaming landscape.

Over the years, fans have tried to scrape as much evidence as possible they can find about the next entry, even keeping an eye on the company’s trademarks. Sadly, players found nothing, and the game remained elusive. However, speculation around Half Life 3 has reignited as new rumors have surfaced online confirming the title’s existence.

Half Life 3 Details Revealed By Reputable Content Creator

Gabe Follower, one of the most content creators when it comes to Valve games, has now claimed that Half Life 3 is pretty much real. The creator spent over three years datamining and working on figuring out if the company is finally crafting the title.

The creator posted his findings on X/Twitter today regarding claims that the third entry is real. He claimed that the next Half Life game might be a semi-open world title, with a weather system and a day and night cycle in which NPCs can interact with you.

In his video, Gabe Follower asserts that all the previous hints that Half Life 3 is on its way are much clearer now with Deadlock‘s arrival on the scene, which is a brand new hero shooter MOBA by the company. The studio is also allegedly working on improving Source 2 with new advancements to handle the next Half Life game.

The fact that Deadlock exists as its own thing has allowed the insider to conclude whether or not gaming projects mentioned in various LinkedIn and other profiles are connected to something separate from the MOBA, which is the next Half Life.

Though Gabe Follower is convinced that the next Half Life game is coming, players aren’t hopeful as they’ve been baited by such arguments for years at this point.

We can’t forget the fact that all of this is just pure speculation. However, one thing is certain is that Valve is certainly working on developing something aside from Deadlock. Given how frequently Half Life 3 is hinted, it might just be it.

However, the third entry has been avoiding us for 17 years at this point, so it’s crucial to keep our hopes in check.

Is Gordon Returning in the Next Half Life Game?

While we’re amid a full-blown Half Life 3 hysteria, there’s another twist in the tale as file names identified in a recent data mine by leaker Tyler McVicker were switched by the company, possibly to deflect suspicion about the next entry.

One of the file names referencing Gordon Freeman’s iconic HEV suit was apparently changed to ‘Burbank Suit.’ A couple of new lines in the code were also identified, including references to shifting of gravity and Houndeyes.

If Gordon Freeman is linked with the next game, as the now Burbank suit would hint, it can’t be anything other than a mainline game that would carry on Gordon’s story from the first Half Life through the second game. It could be someone, but that’s now how Gabe Newell likes to do things!
