An Arizona mother killed her two children in a horrific murder-suicide shortly after shooting a woman who was with her husband and sending him a text threatening to harm their kids.

Glendale Police said Andrea Clarice Davis, 38, drove to Tailgaters Sports Bar and Grill in Glendale just after midnight Monday and fired several shots at her husband, Nolan Davis, 39, and a 36-year-old woman while they were outside the bar, AZFamily reported.

Glendale Police spokesperson Jose Santiago told the outlet that the woman, who has not been identified, was in her car when she was shot in the back of the head while trying to flee.

Police said Andrea then drove home and texted her husband that she was going to hurt their children.

Distressing texts

At the scene of the bar shooting, Nolan told police about the threatening text sent by his wife, followed by a second text that had a photo of one of their children bleeding from the head in their Phoenix home, police said.

By 2:30 a.m., police from Glendale and Phoenix were at the couple’s home, just over three kilometres away from the bar.

“Because we already knew this was a dire situation, officers forced their way into the home and that’s when they encountered this horrific situation,” Santiago said, per AZFamily.

Police found the bodies of the two children, who were shot in the head, along with the body of their mom, who they said shot herself.

The children were identified by people close to the family as 18-month-old Andolan and 10-year-old Austin.

Police said the woman who was shot outside the bar was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to survive.

Police did not provide details on her relationship with the deceased woman’s husband, who was uninjured in the shooting.

“We do know that they were familiar with one another and there was some type of relationship. How familiar and what type of relationship, that’s unknown at this time,” Santiago said.

Mother ‘stressed’ over marriage

A close friend of Andrea’s told AZFamily that the killer mom was driven to madness dealing with marital problems and thought her husband was cheating on her.

“This relationship that’s been going on between Nolan Davis and his co-worker has completely made her lose her mind. She hasn’t had an issue like this their whole marriage,” Amy Bowers said.

“They haven’t had anything like this come up before. And so I think the shock of that is just a lot for her. She was just, she was not feeling good. And she’s been asking for help from everybody,” she said.

“I feel really bad nobody was thinking about the kids this whole time you know Andrea was stressed because Nolan was talking about leaving and she was like, ‘What am I supposed to do with the kids?’” Bowers added.

Phoenix police are investigating the murder-suicide, while Glendale police are investigating the bar shooting.

Both authorities had no prior involvement with the couple, who had no history of domestic violence, AZFamily reported.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help raise funds to cover funeral expenses for the children.
