“This is the first time we’ve seen this kind of access to hockey,” Bublé said. “I never even dreamed there could be this kind of access.”

The first season follows the Giants through a difficult campaign in which they finished outside the playoffs with a 25-39 record. At press time, the Giants were 4-2-1 this season.

While Bublé said he was disappointed by last season’s outcome as both an owner and a hockey fan, he also learned something about reality television.

“The producers were so happy, smiling all the time,” Bublé said. “I was like, ‘Why, why, why are you smiling?’ And they were saying, ‘because you couldn’t write this.’”
