Mia Farrow on actors working with Woody Allen: I completely understand

Mia Farrow has shared her thoughts on actors who choose to work with her former partner, Woody Allen, despite the controversy surrounding him. Her relationship with Allen lasted from 1980 to 1992, a period during which she starred in 13 of his films.

It all ended in scandal when Allen began a relationship with Soon-Yi Previn, Farrow's adopted daughter, whom he later married. Allen was also accused by Farrow's daughter, Dylan, of sexual abuse-a claim Allen has consistently denied and for which he was never charged.

When asked by journalist Seth Doane if she could separate her work in Allen's films from the personal difficulties that followed, Farrow affirmed that she could.

"I completely understand if an actor decides to work with him," she noted. "I'm not one who'd say, 'Oh, they shouldn't.' "

This suggests that, despite the painful history, she is able to view her professional achievements independently from her personal experiences.

Allen sparks controversy

In the wake of the allegations against Allen, many actors have distanced themselves from him. Kate Winslet and Drew Barrymore have expressed regret for working with him, and others, such as Colin Firth and Greta Gerwig, have vowed not to collaborate with him in the future.

In a show of solidarity with the Time's Up movement, actors Timothee Chalamet and Rebecca Hall donated their salaries from Allen's films.

However, opinions in Hollywood remain divided. On his podcast, Club Random, comedian Bill Maher criticized the actors who have chosen to shun Allen.

Javier Bardem has also defended Allen, emphasizing that the director was never convicted of the accusations against him.
