The "Mad Max" star got emotional in an interview on NewsNation's Elizabeth Vargas Reports, where he recalled returning home to "nothing" after initially wondering if his home was left standing.
"Obviously, it's kind of devastating. It's emotional," Gibson said, per the Daily Mail. "I was doing the Rogan podcast… And [I was] kind of ill at ease while we were talking, because I knew my neighborhood was on fire, so I thought, I wonder if my place is still there."
He continued, "But when I got home, sure enough, it wasn't there. I went home and I said to myself, well, at least I haven't got any of those pesky plumbing problems anymore."

He then agreed with the host before joking, "I think all our tax dollars probably went to Gavin's hair gel."
The devastating havoc has resulted in the death of 10 people, with hundreds of thousands evacuated and displaced.
