Durham Regional Police say the mother and child were in the shopping centre at Harmony Rd. N. and Taunton Rd. E. when the frightening incident allegedly unfolded around 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 21.
“While the female and her child were walking between aisles, a male followed her and committed an indecent sexual act,” police claim in a statement released Saturday. “The female and her child left the store and contacted police.”
Police said the mother and her child were not physically hurt.
