Werder Bremen are reportedly close to securing the services of 45-times-capped Burkina Faso international Issa Kaboré on loan. This is reported by Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, writing on social media platform X Saturday afternoon.

The 23-year-old's parent club Manchester City recently recalled the fullback/winger early from his current loan at SL Benifca. He's now set to head to the Hanseatic city-state.

Kaboré has actually been loaned out five times by his EPL parent club, spending time in Belgian and France as well as Portugal. He worked in the Premiership on loan with Luton Town last season.

It's unclear as how Kaboré will fit into the plans of SV trainer Ole Werner given that the gaffer has no exigent need for new actors at the wingback position. In any event, Romano reports that the deal is nearly done.
