The driver of a van that slammed into a vehicle at a major downtown Vancouver intersection last year, killing one person, has been charged with criminal negligence.

Steven Austin Trakalo, 35, was arrested last Thursday in Chilliwack by Vancouver police officers.

Trakalo is alleged to be behind the wheel of a Plymouth Voyager minivan that struck a Honda Accord that was stopped at a red light at West Georgia and Burrard Streets in the early morning hours of June 22, 2023.
