The nurse was seriously injured in the attack as a patient was being discharged just before noon on Nov. 20, Port Moody police said.

Officers arrested a suspect immediately.

A charge of assault causing bodily harm has been approved by the B.C. Prosecution Service against 41-year-old Shawn Bradley Forsythe of no fixed address, Const. Sam Zacharias said in a statement on Monday.

Forsythe is due in provincial court in Port Coquitlam on Feb. 10.

Penticton RCMP investigate arson outside detachment

Police in Penticton are investigating a Christmas Day arson outside the local RCMP detachment.

At about 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 25, officers were alerted to an item lit on fire outside.

The fire was put out with limited property damage and no one was injured

Anyone who witnessed someone starting the fire or who was driving by the detachment around that time and has dashcam footage is asked to call Penticton RCMP at 250-492-4300.
