York Regional Police say the incident at a home near Sir Sanford Fleming Way and Grand Trunk Ave. – southwest of Dufferin St. and Major Mackenzie Dr. – just after 3:45 a.m. saw the resident taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim has since been released from hospital.

Doneil Josiah Levy-Porter, of Brampton, is wanted on eight charges that include firearms-related offences, possession of property obtained by crime, failure to comply with a release order and one count of failure to comply with an undertaking.

Cops have been unable to locate the suspect and are appealing to the public for information regarding his whereabouts.

Levy-Porter is considered to be armed and dangerous, and poses a threat to public safety and, if seen, citizens are urged not to approach him but to call police immediately.
