Throughout the X-Men flicks, Logan’s love life never extended beyond his romantic history with Jean Grey, and even after he was told that she’ll stay committed to Cyclops, the former still kept on pushing. But many felt that his fixation with Grey might’ve overshadowed Hugh Jackman’s chemistry with Halle Berry’s Storm, and interestingly, they were almost a thing in the Fox universe.

While being platonic works for the duo, fans expressed that there was a major missed opportunity to explore their bond a step further, stressing Logan fumbled the ball hard with this one.

In the comics, Wolverine’s romance with Storm is pretty underrated, which was more thoroughly explored in Marvel’s Ultimate Universe in the comics and in one episode of X-Men ’97. As for live-action, while it was never tackled directly, there were some elements present behind the screen, and the two even shared a kiss in a deleted scene from X-Men: Days Of Future Past. Moreover, Halle Berry later revealed the two were indeed a pair at some point, which she claimed didn’t last long because of Grey, stating she “caused a problem”.

However, fans never got to see their romance unfold onscreen, and following the undeniable chemistry between Berry and Hugh Jackman, fans feel Logan fumbled the ball hard on this one.

This is something I will NEVER understand.

Fumbled is an understatement. He could’ve been singing Halle Berrrrrrrrrry Halle Berry for years!!!!

They hinted at it w/X2 (Mystique turns into Ororo at the camp.) Then there were deleted scenes in Last Stand & DOFP. My guess is focus groups didn't like it, or the studio vetoed it.
Personally, they pushed Logan & Jean too much. Feels like he'd only want Storm after Jean died.

He fell for her eventually.

It took the end of the world for that to happen but it happened?

Omg. What if he stayed in love with Ororo after days of future past. That would have been amazing.

While it’d have been great to see their romance finally unfold in Deadpool & Wolverine, which served as a love letter to Fox’s X-Men universe, unfortunately, Berry wasn’t asked to return.

Halle Berry Would’ve Returned as Storm if Asked

Unlike her tenure in another superhero role, Catwoman, which earned the Oscar winner a Razzie win, which she took in good humor, Berry didn’t drop the ball with her portrayal of Sue Storm. Although it has been a decade since the actress last stepped in Storm’s shoes, Berry did entertain the idea of making a return in the Deadpool threequel when initially approached by Blake Lively.

Unfortunately, the actress recalled that the call from Ryan Reynolds never arrived, which is a shame, as we could’ve finally seen her Storm and Jackman’s Logan being a thing in live-action.

Blake [Lively] asked me one time — I ran into her at a Marc Jacobs fashion show — and she said, ‘Would you ever be in my husband’s movie as Storm?’ I said, ‘Yeah, if he asked me,’ but he never asked me.

Hopefully, Secret Wars will be the one to bring back Berry for a deserved farewell, and moving forward, Marvel could have its own version of Storm and Logan be a thing in the MCU.

Deadpool & Wolverine is currently running in theatres.
