HE DIDN’T ASK
The conduct of Prime Minister Mark Carney in seeking closer ties with the EU is undemocratic, dishonest, and disrespectful to the Canadian people. Prime Minister Carney does not have the mandate to do this. The prime minister should respect the dignity and sovereignty of the Canadian people and put the question of pivoting away from America to a referendum on a detailed proposal of the new plan for Canada. We, the Canadian people, want to be a nation, not an EU member in any shape or form!

CARNEY OBSESSED WITH EUROPE
What is up with our PM’s obsession with joining the EU? He failed to stop Brexit, so now he wants to drown us in the septic quagmire that is the European economy. And, he appears to be setting about this without consulting either Parliament or the Canadian people. So, once again, Carney is about to take us where nobody wants to go.

UNION THREATS
Teachers threaten job action; it must be September. The wisdom of the decision allowing teachers to strike, by Bill Davis, a great premier, is open to debate. When one side holds a monopoly in an essential service, regularly holding students and parents hostage, it’s difficult to imagine an environment where fair and reasonable negotiations can occur. If labour laws governing teachers aren’t changed, parents should be offered alternative uninterrupted education options for their children.

BOTTOM OF THE ORDER
Every player in the Blue Jays lineup has been moved around in the batting order, sans one. The individual who hasn’t been properly slotted is the one who should be batting ninth. So here’s a thought: Let all the pitchers hit for themselves and DH Guerrero instead. I’ll bet the pitchers were all monster hitters in Little League. It’s simple, Guerrero is a slightly above average first baseman, but he refuses to run. Park him on the bench until he can extricate his head from his posterior.
