After each antisemitic attack in Canada, our prime minister makes the same comment: ‘This is not who Canada is.’ Three shootings at the same school and two fire bombings at the same synagogue most definitely define what Canada has become. What is the PM going to do to bring us back to the respected and respectful people we were? I am afraid he will do what he has always done — nothing.

FUDDLE DUDDLE, MR. TRUMP

It is appallingly beyond the pale that the media keep asking readers obtuse questions such as this: Should Canada join the U.S. as the 51st state? That old geezer president-elect is, to borrow from the late president George H.W. Bush, a stomach-churning blowhard to come up with outlandish stuff like this one. For one, I wish the late prime minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau was around to respond to such nonsense with his classic reply: “Fuddle duddle.”

A COUNTRY RUN BY A DRAMA TEACHER

Donald Trump sees a spineless Canada. Who wouldn’t? Our fearless leader tucked his tail and visited him in Mar-a-Lago. Since then, jokes and sarcastic remarks from the incoming leader of the free world have been a Christmas gift to all tariff supporters in the U.S. I’ll have to assume the meeting was a dumpster fire while seeing jokes and comments from Trump about the 51st state. We’ve heard crickets about the comments, zilch, zero. Our drama teacher controls our nation!

BLAIR IS A FAILURE

Bill Blair is a total disappointment as an MP. He fails to influence his fellow MPs and the prime minister. How can a former chief of Toronto Police stand by and watch the catch-and-release program of the courts? No consequences, as noted on the front page of the Dec. 19 Toronto Sun. Maybe Blair needs to read your paper every day.
