Re “Trump sets new tariffs to punish use of ‘forced labour,’ replacing expiring import taxes” (The Washington Post, July 23): Donald Trump has one hell of a nerve accusing anyone of forced labour while he holds the federal minimum wage at $7.50 an hour.

HOLY GRAIL
Re “Say a little prayer for our woke military brass” (Editorial, Aug. 6): I strongly disagree with the Canadian military removing references to God and prayers and compromising with spiritual reflections. I strongly disagree with the change to the national anthem, which disrespects those men and women who fought and died for the freedoms that we take for granted. I believe in God and I believe in Jesus Christ, who was crucified, died and raised from the dead for the sins of the world. God has provided so many blessings that we take for granted. We are all sinners and if we say that we have not sinned, we are lying to ourselves. God is waiting for us to believe and trust in him. All of heaven rejoices when one sinner repents and turns away from sin. I have faith in God and I believe the world would be a better place if we returned to God. All our blessings come from God. I don’t mean to preach, but God has provided for my needs many times. I’ll be surprised if you publish this letter.
