Leeds make move for Gladbach defender

Leeds United are reportedly in talks with Borussia Mönchengladbach over the signing of Nico Elvedi.

Borussia Mönchengladbach centre-back Nico Elvedi is being linked with a move to the Premier League.

According to Bild, Leeds United have made a concrete move for the 29-year-old Swiss international.

The report claims that the Premier League side are willing to pay €8.5 million for Elvedi, who has just one year remaining on his contract.

However, this is not enough for Gladbach, with negotiations now underway in an attempt to find common ground.

Reports have previously suggested that Elvedi has a release clause in the region of €10 million in his contract.

Should he complete the move, Elvedi would reunite with former Gladbach coach Daniel Farke, who is now in charge at Leeds.
