SV Elversberg's Felix Keidel will not be in the Germany squad for Thursday's UEFA Nations League match against Serbia.

Germany coach Jürgen Klopp is only allowed to name 23 players in his matchday squad, meaning he has to leave two of the 25 players called up out – and Keidel is one of them.

Unsurprisingly, Borussia Dortmund defender Nico Schlotterbeck is the other player omitted from the squad, having been forced to leave the national team camp after sustaining an injury in training on Wednesday.

Keidel will have another chance to make his debut when Germany face Greece on Sunday.

Similarly, Hoffenheim's Bambasé Conté was left out of the squad to face the Netherlands last week, but then started in the subsequent 0-1 defeat to Greece.
