Earlier this week, Kate Middleton visited a charity supporting people struggling with addiction and revealed that her husband, Prince William, has a surprising talent for gardening.

The Princess of Wales met with several people battling addiction and spoke about the importance of “understanding the root causes” and “starting the conversation.”

The visit comes amid her and William’s indifference to Harry and Meghan’s return to the UK. Reports suggest she is unlikely to step in as a peacemaker to help the warring brothers sheathe their swords.

Kate Middleton opened up about Prince William’s gardening skills during a recent public appearance at a charity supporting people affected by addiction.

Ahead of Addiction Awareness Week, the future queen visited the Forward Trust’s garden in northeast London to join one of the charity’s weekly gardening sessions supporting people battling addiction.

She was impressed by the lush greenery and called it a “fantastic environment,” The Independent reported.

“Spaces like this are so vital for lots of different organizations to be able to come together and use. Often people don’t know where to go,” she told conservation lead, Liam King.

She added that the outdoor space was necessary for healing and suggested William should visit because “he knows a lot (about gardening), he’s really passionate.”

When asked if she also gardens, she said, “a little bit.”

Elsewhere during the outing, the princess met with several people battling addiction and emphasized the importance of “understanding the root causes.”

She spoke with recovering alcoholic Steph Sampson, who recounted the toll her drinking had taken on her and her relationships with loved ones.

“I found out that there was a trauma that I buried so deep that I didn’t think was a problem, but actually it really was,” she told Kate. “I had counseling for that, which was a massive sigh of relief.”

Sampson recalled how her daughter had written to her, pleading with her to give up alcohol. The letter became a turning point in her life. With the Forward Trust’s help, she turned over a new leaf and has not consumed alcohol for six months, an achievement Kate praised.

Middleton Returns To Film Premieres With ‘Digger’

Kate has had her hands full with public appearances and hosting duties lately. Earlier this week, she and William attended the UK premiere of “Digger.” It marked her first film premiere in more than four years and followed her 2024 cancer diagnosis.

She turned heads in a long, plum Jenny Packham gown, while William kept it formal in a black velvet blazer and bow tie, per PEOPLE.

During the event, the Prince and Princess of Wales met with celebrities, including David Beckham and his sons Romeo and Cruz. They chatted for a while and even posed for photos together.

The royal couple also met with other famous faces, including Tom Cruise, who famously lent Kate a helping hand as she climbed a flight of stairs.

Kate Middleton Celebrates Three Peaks Participants At Windsor Castle

Kate took to Instagram on Friday, Sept. 25, to share photos of a tea party she hosted at Windsor Castle for some of her fellow National Three Peaks Challenge participants.

“It was a pleasure to welcome other Three Peaks Challenge participants and their families to Windsor Castle,” she captioned the post. “Behind every summit was a personal story of resilience, determination and hope.”

The princess secretly took part in and completed the challenge in June. It entails climbing the highest points in Scotland, England and Wales: Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, respectively.

At the time, she used the feat to raise awareness of cancer as she continued to heal following her own diagnosis.

Kate’s engagements come amid her and William’s headline-dominating feud with Harry and Meghan following the Sussexes’ return to the UK.

Speculation has positioned her as the person who could finally reunite the brothers, but journalist Omid Scobie said she has “very little to do” with their relationship.

Scobie made the assertion in a new documentary, saying he doesn’t expect anything to “change” despite suggestions that Kate could act as a “peacekeeper.”

“There’s always this talk of Kate potentially being the peacekeeper, the one that could bring the two brothers together,” Scobie said in “Harry & Meghan: The Return of the Prince,” per the Daily Mail.

“If I’ve learned anything over the years from covering them, it’s that Kate has very little to do with that relationship between the brothers,” he added.
