According to Sky Germany, Maximilian Senft is set to take over as manager of Karlsruhe SC ahead of the 2026-27 season.

Talks are already at an advanced stage between the head coach and team who finished tenth in the 2.Bundesliga this campaign.

The 36-year-old is currently fighting for SV Ried's promotion to the Conference League – with the second-smallest budget in the league.

In personal discussions, Senft impressed the Karlsruhe management the most of all the candidates for the coaching job.

The tactical mastermind is known for his proactive, high-pressing style of football and is highly rated in Austria too.

Senft has already informed his team of his departure this summer, his last two games will be the play-off finals against Rapid Wien.

Interestingly, Senft is also a successful poker player. In 2014, he finished eleventh at the World Poker Championship.
