Reacting to the controversy, many netizens were quick to criticize Bellingham’s actions.

“What a sore loser Bellingham is. Plus, he’s going after Valentín Barco, one of the youngest in the Argentine national team,” one individual said.

“He deserves to be banned. Disgusting behavior and a sore loser. Bellingham slaps Colo Barco in a confrontation after the game,” another person commented.

Others, however, were more sympathetic, suggesting Barco’s earlier celebration may have provoked the reaction.
