The Boys Creator’s Huge Warning to Jensen Ackles

When an actor plays one character for well over a decade, it’s no surprise that they start showing traits of the aforementioned character in future roles, which they may portray as well.

Considering Jensen Ackles was a part of Supernatural for 15 years, The Boys creator Eric Kripke was undoubtedly worried about the talented actor showing signs of Dean Winchester in his portrayal of Soldier Boy in The Boys season 3 via Parstrod on YouTube.

The note that kept getting repeated to me over and over and over, not just from him but from other people who know me, was don’t be Dean, which is my character in Supernatural. Don’t let your Dean show. Don’t be Dean.

It’s certainly hilarious to think Jensen Ackles portraying Soldier Boy with a hint of Dean Winchester. After all, the two characters are not similar to each other in many ways.

While Soldier Boy is an arrogant alpha male who is obsessed with America, Dean Winchester is someone who is an extrovert and loves to make impulsive decisions in the heat of the moment.

Despite the obvious differences in their personalities, Ackles did a great job of not letting them overlap and delivering a convincing performance as one of the most important characters in The Boys season 3.
