Jenna Ortega Asked If See-Through Dress Is 'Necessary' In High Heels

Jenna Ortega looked stunning in her sheer dress at the 2022 Critics Choice Association's Celebration of Latino Cinema & Television, but she was subject to backlash over her look. Showing off her petite frame in a one-shouldered, mostly see-through gown, the 22-year-old made headlines for her cheeky display, one seemingly upsetting users on The Daily Mail. Channeling her favorite all-black finish as she rocked a maxi number clinging to her curves, Jenna flew the flag for the see-through trend, but fans in the comments seemed more interested in slamming her.

Jenna Ortega Stuns In Sheer Black Dress

Baring her midriff as ruched materials around her torso fed down from opaque paneling around the chest, the Wednesday star flashed a black pair of underwear briefs beneath her dress, one falling to the ground and teamed with platform heels.

Adding height to her frame thanks to her patent, open-toe footwear, Jenna showed some cheek in some snaps, and it looked like those undies were thong ones.

Keeping glam with a red pedicure to match her manicure, Jenna wore her hair styled into bangs, rocking a messy-effect bun with plenty of loose strands framing her face. The You actress completed her look with blush and bronzer lifting her cheekbones, adding dramatic dark eyeshadow and a deep red lip.

"How sad that she has to degrade herself to get noticed," one fan replied, and with over 130 likes, their reply proved the most-liked. "The wrong fabric can turn a classy dress into trash just like that," another said, with a third writing: "I'm so tired of this "see through" look in formal wear. It cheapens any dress." Wondering if Jenna needed to show this much skin, a further fan asked: "Is all of that necessary? Too much nakedness."

Not Her First Sheer Dress

Jenna turned heads again in this see-through look as she joined stars including Alexandra Daddario and Lucy Hale at the Gris Dior VIP Party in April of this year. Jenna holds an ambassador status with the luxury designer and modeled a stunning strappy dress while going both braless and sheer for her big night.

In November 2023, Jenna was named as one of seven new faces for Dior's #DareInGrisDior fragrance campaign.
