Jeff Bezos denies supposed million-dollar wedding to fiancee Lauren Sanchez in Aspen: Get the details

It was thought that Jeff Bezos is officially entering a new chapter of his life on Saturday, December 28 by marrying Lauren Sanchez but he has now denied the reports.

The couple will not tie the knot in Aspen, Colorado, five years on from the leak of their controversial affair that ended the 60-year-old's marriage to MacKenzie Scott, in a split that cost him over $35.6 billion dollars of stocks in Amazon.

Reports said that the wedding would be dominated by the festive time of the year, featuring a winter wonderland theme with twinkling lights and a warm holiday decor to charm attendees, who will also be invited for sushi at the Matsuhia restaurant.

Guests would include some of Bezos' most famous peers such as Microsoft's Bill Gates, who is worth over $100bn, as well as Queen Rania of Jordan and Leonardo DiCaprio, according to PageSix.com.

Now, Bezos himself has tweeted that the reports are false and there is no wedding taking place next week.

He tweeted: @Furthermore, this whole thing is completely false - none of this is happening. The old adage "don't believe everything you read" is even more true today than it ever has been. Now lies can get ALL the way around the world before the truth can get its pants on. So be careful out there folks and don't be gullible."

Who is Lauren Sanchez?

Sanchez, who is 54, began dating the American billionaire in 2018 after she split up from Hollywood's Patrick Whitesell, and brings three children to their new household to go with Bezos' four.

She is of Mexican heritage and made her name through working as an entertainment reporter and later a news anchor, eventually going on to host Fox Sports News Primetime, and has since turned her interests to philanthropy.

In this second phase of her life, she is vice-chairperson of the Bezos Earth Fund and has donated $60m to biomanufacturing and climate change efforts, and also helps select the winners of the Courage and Civility Award.

Sanchez has also appeared in a series of famous movies such as Fight Club, The Day After Tomorrow, Fantastic Four (2005), and Ted 2. She has also appeared in TV shows such as Babylon 5 and NCIS.
