Jedidiah Duggar and wife Katey welcome twin daughters: ‘Completely captured our hearts’

Jedidiah “Jed” Duggar and his wife, Katelyn “Katey” Duggar, are officially parents of four!

The couple, who wed in April 2021, announced the arrival of their “beautiful” twin daughters Thursday.

“We are thrilled to share the joyous news of the arrival of our twin daughters, Elsie Kate and Emma Kate!” Jed and Katey, both 26, said in a statement to People.

“Elsie was born on Jan. 8, 2025, at 2:06 p.m. weighing 6 pounds, 14 ounces, and Emma followed at 2:13 p.m. weighing 7 pounds, 2 ounces.”

The “19 Kids and Counting” alum and his spouse said both newborns are “healthy” and “have completely captured [their] hearts.”

They shared a few photos from the hospital, showing Katey cradling Elsie and Emma in each arm. The little ones were swaddled in pink-and-blue blankets and wore matching striped hats.

The couple also included pictures of their son, Truett, 2, and daughter Nora, 1, meeting their new siblings as they took their first photos as a family of six.

“Truett and Nora are so excited to help us welcome them,” they told People. “Watching their excitement and love for their little sisters has been such a sweet blessing for us as parents.”

“We are so grateful to God for entrusting us with these precious girls. Our hearts are full, and we’re thankful for the love and support we’ve received during this joyful time.”

The Duggars also shared photos of Emma and Elsie on Instagram after a slight outfit change.

Jed and Katey welcomed Truett in May 2022 and Nora 13 months later. In July 2024, they announced they were expanding their brood by two.

The pair were “especially thrilled” to welcome twins given Jed is a twin himself.

“The bond between twins is truly special, and I can’t wait to see them grow and experience life together,” the “thrilled” former reality star said at the time.

His twin, Jeremiah Duggar, and his wife, Hannah Duggar, are expecting their third daughter later this year.

Jed and Katey dated for more than a year before tying the knot. The nuptials came as a surprise to many of his followers since the duo kept most of their romance out of the public eye.

“For a long time I have prayed for my future spouse, not knowing who that person would be,” Jed wrote on Instagram when he announced their union. “God answered my prayers far beyond what I could have ever imagined in Katey!

“We have enjoyed quietly developing our relationship over the past year and every moment together has been amazing! I’m so grateful God brought Katey into my life and excited to share with you all that today she became my wife!”

Jed said just the “thought” of spending “the rest of [his] life” with Katey already made him “the happiest man in the world!”
