"It's true that we met!" – Hoeneß confirms Pep Guardiola catch up in München

Guardiola famously coached FC Bayern between 2013 and 2016, winning an impressive 7 major trophies during that period.

Last Monday, as BILD understands, Uli Hoeneß and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge met with Pep Guardiola over dinner in München.  

Guardiola had an appointment with his sponsor Puma in Herzogenaurach and used the chance to make a brief visit to his former home.

The Spaniard, who recently left his head coach role at Manchester City, maintains a very good relationship with Bayern Munich's bosses.

“It’s true that we met. Pep, Karl-Heinz and I share a very close friendship. We had a wonderful evening," Uli Hoeneß informed BILD.

At Guardiola's request, Vincent Kompany was also invited to the rendezvous, but the Belgian unfortunately had to decline the offer. 

Instead, Kompany was attending the coaches' conference in Stuttgart which happened to clash with the timing of the dinner.

“We will gladly reschedule the meal with Vincent and Pep at the next opportunity," said Hoeneß, suggesting another meetup may happen.
