John Boyega was previously expected to swim in that very success of the film, with his role as Terry Richmond, before he abruptly quit the project and it went to the Krypton actor Aaron Pierre.

John Boyega’s exit from the project mid-shoot was announced by Netflix, as the streamer cited the Star Wars actor’s “family reasons” as a cause for leaving. With alleged reasons for John Boyega’s departure spanning from issues with the script to his accommodations, sources revealed that Netflix executives, including head of global films Scott Stuber and co-CEO Ted Sarandos, tried to persuade Boyega to return to the set. But to their failure, the actor simply left the production disbanded.
