Hugh Jackman shared a shirtless mirror selfie showing his amazing physique for Deadpool & Wolverine

Safe to say that Hugh Jackman put in work for his starring role in 'Deadpool & Wolverine'.

The 55-year-old grabbed attention on Wednesday when he posted a shirtless mirror selfie which showed off the incredibly ripped abs and physique he worked on for the role on Instagram.

"I am grateful," Jackman captioned the post, which showed him posing in a bathroom while wearing a pair of black Under Armour tracksuit pants.

There was no shortage of praise for Jackman, with one fan writing: "This is certainly a good morning."

Another wrote: "Hugh we are also f***ing grateful."

Former ski racer Lindsey Vonn also chimed in, writing: "All those days in the gym paid off."

How Jackman got into shape

The post comes months after Jackman talked about the work he put in to get back into superhero shape for 'Deadpool & Wolverine'.

The film, which was released in July, saw Jackman reprise his role as Wolverine for the first time since 2017.

"When I came back to it, it was really fun and I was thrilled. My body was a little sore at the beginning, but I was thrilled that my body was still responding. And I realized how good it is for your brain. But the hardest bit...the food," said Jackman.

"I have to eat a lot. For me, for my body type, I'm naturally skinny. To get the size on, that's the hardest bit. That's the bit that does my head in." 

Jackman's co-star, Ryan Reynolds, highlighted how hard he saw Jackman work to get back into peak shape.

"Yeah, the five, six meals a day, which sounds great to some people. I'm sure they're like, 'Well, that sounds great.' But it's not like the type of food that you would really necessarily enjoy," he said.
