HSV and Schalke 04 commence battle for out-of-contract Toulouse marksman

Frank Magri's time at the Ligue 1 side is up - now the striker valued at around €3million is searching for the next step in his career.

According to sources at FußballTransfers.com, the newly promoted Bundesliga side Schalke 04 are interested in Frank Magri.

The striker, who is also capable of playing on the right flank, is available on a free transfer after his contract with FC Toulouse expired.

Furthermore, the Royal Blues have already produced several offers to the 26-year-old, but an agreement is not yet imminent. 

It must be noted that the Gelsenkirchen outfit are not alone in their pursuit of the 20-time Cameroonian international.

Rival interest comes from Hamburger SV, as well as from MLS side New York City FC currently has a good chance of signing him. 

Relegated Premier League outfit Burnley FC is also closely monitoring the situation of the 1.78-meter-tall right-footed player. 

Last season, Magri managed to score five goals and produce a solitary assist in 17 appearances which helped Toulouse finish ninth in Ligue 1.
