Hoffenheim forward blocks out transfer talk amid Barcelona interest

Hoffenheim's Fisnik Asllani has commented on FC Barcelona's alleged interest in him.

Speculation linking TSG Hoffenheim forward Fisnik Asllani with FC Barcelona has intensified recently, with the player’s agent confirming initial contact with the La Liga giants.

Asllani, however, insists he is blocking out all the rumours to focus fully on his performances for Hoffenheim.

“I can only influence what happens on the pitch. I just try to keep performing and help the team, whether it’s with goals, assists, or whatever. Regardless of everything else, I give my all for the team,” Asllani said following Hoffenheim’s 1-2 defeat to Mainz on Saturday, according to Sport Bild.

“And honestly, what happens off the pitch doesn’t concern me. Everyone talks and talks. As I said, I can only influence what happens on the pitch.

"It was the same last season when I was still in Elversberg (on loan). Everyone was talking: ‘What’s next? Contract next season, this, that.’ I just said: ‘Leave me alone, let me play football, let me enjoy it.’ And that’s exactly how I’m approaching this season too.

“In the end, we’ll see what happens," he concluded.
