According to journalist Christopher Michel, the 23-year-old is edging closer to joining Eredivisie giants Feyenoord, where he is expected to compete for the club’s number-one spot.
Earlier on Thursday, Sky Germany reported that Ernst had turned down a move to recently relegated Wolfsburg. With speculation linking him to Feyenoord continuing to gather pace, the reason behind that decision now appears to be becoming clearer.
A product of the Hertha academy, Ernst has established himself as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper over the past three seasons in the 2. Bundesliga. The German shot-stopper is reportedly available for a release clause of around €5 million.
