After guiding FC Barcelona to their 29th-ever La Liga title on Sunday, ex-Bayern Munich coach Hansi Flick earned high praise from Karl-Heinz Rummenigge on his achievements. –

“I'm happy that he made it because he deserves this success," he told BILD regarding Flick, who won two Bundesliga titles, a DFB-Pokal and a Champions League as coach of Bayern.

"Hansi has this outstanding quality of working well with the team and building a great relationship of trust with his players.

"When we were at the Champions League tournament in Lisbon with FC Bayern in 2020 during the Corona period, there was an atmosphere that I had never experienced before.

“This spirit and cohesion were incredible. The players went through fire for their coach and Hansi embodies this value just like Vincent Kompany,” the Bayern chief concluded.

Prior to his time at the Catalan club, Flick replaced Niko Kovač at Bayern in 2019. Despite achieving ample success, he informed Bayern he wanted to leave in April 2021.
