While there were no injuries reported from the shooting, police said a robbery victim suffered minor injuries from an assault. They believe it was a targeted incident and that two suspects had fled from the area on foot.
The shooting response team later executed a search warrant with the help of 10 Division officers at an apartment at 40 Oxford St., which was believed to be associated with the shooting, and a police presence would remain there until the search was complete.
Yonis Mohamed was arrested on Saturday and charged with robbery with a firearm, assault with a weapon and failure to comply with a probation order.
Police are still on the hunt for a Black male suspect who is believed to be in his mid-20s to early 30s, is about 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8 and has an average build. He was wearing a dark blue sweater and dark pants at the time.

They asked any victims or anyone with information about the incident, including surveillance footage between 4 a.m. and 4:30 a.m., to contact the shooting response team at 905-546-4883 or [email protected].
Anonymous information can also be sent to Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or crimestoppershamilton.com.
