Gypsy Rose Blanchard admitted she told Ken Urker she “hoped” he would overdose in two prison calls with her then-boyfriend, Ryan Anderson, nearly six years before Urker’s death, according to the Daily Mail.

In audio recordings obtained by the outlet, Blanchard, 35, recalled telling Urker to overdose during their tumultuous on-and-off relationship, first in December 2020 and again in March 2021.

The recording captured Blanchard discussing the pair’s ongoing connection despite their repeated arguments.

In a separate call from March 2021, Blanchard again acknowledged telling Urker, “I hope he overdose[s],” according to the Daily Mail.

Urker died earlier this month on Oct. 1 — his 34th birthday.

In the December 2020 call, Blanchard told Anderson she had sent Urker the song “You Broke Me First” by Tate McRae after they had been broken up for several months.

“Next thing you know, he gone,” she said, apparently referring to Urker leaving her, before revealing that she had previously told him he could overdose.

“No, even after I told him he could overdose and all that, like, he still kept himself on my email, like, he never took himself off no matter how bad we got into it or how bad it seemed like we were at odds,” she said.

Anderson, 40, who was dating Blanchard at the time, appeared uncomfortable with the conversation and cut her off, telling her he did not want to discuss Urker.

In the March 2021 call, Blanchard described how she would refuse to let another romantic interest ignore her, saying she would show up at his door and throw cans at his car.

“Oh, Lord. I’ve gotta go. I don’t know that I want to talk to you anymore,” Anderson responded, according to the recording.

Blanchard and Urker first connected as pen pals in 2017 while she was incarcerated for her role in the 2015 murder of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard. Blanchard was convicted of second-degree murder in 2016 and released on parole in December 2023.

Blanchard and Urker eventually became romantically involved and got engaged before calling off their relationship.

While Blanchard was still behind bars, she began a relationship with Anderson, whom she married in a small prison ceremony in July 2022.

After Blanchard was released, her marriage to Anderson fell apart, and the pair separated in 2024. She subsequently rekindled her romance with Urker, and the two welcomed their daughter, Aurora, in December 2024.

The two quietly split shortly before Urker’s death.

Meanwhile, Urker’s cause of death remains undetermined.

While his autopsy is complete, his toxicology results are pending, and the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that its investigation is ongoing.

Urker was found with drugs, drug paraphernalia and a handgun at the time of his death, according to an incident report obtained by Page Six.

Authorities have not found evidence of foul play, but have not ruled it out.
