Gypsy And Ken Are Officially Parents
Gypsy’s life has been widely documented due to her traumatic past. As a victim of Munchausen by proxy, her story gained national attention through multiple documentaries and dramatizations.
Her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, subjected her to years of unnecessary and painful medical treatments, leading Gypsy to eventually conspire with her then-boyfriend to end her mother’s life in 2015.
Following her release from prison and a subsequent divorce from her ex-husband, Ryan Anderson, Gypsy is now stepping into a new chapter with Ken and their daughter, Aurora.

Why Did They Choose The Name Aurora?
In an interview with People Magazineshortly before Aurora's birth, Gypsy revealed the sentimental story behind her daughter's name. “Ken came up with that,” she shared. “There’s a whole backstory to it.”
While many speculated that the name was inspired by Disney's "Sleeping Beauty" or even Ken's stepmother's dog, Gypsy clarified that the true inspiration came from the couple's shared fascination with the Northern Lights.
“Back whenever Ken and I were together seven years ago, both of us had a fascination with the Northern Lights, and the proper term is the Aurora Borealis,” she explained. “I think it was maybe in 2018, we wrote each other's future kid's name on pieces of paper, and Aurora is what we both picked without even knowing each other was picking it.”

Gypsy Reflects On Motherhood
Becoming a mother has brought both excitement and scrutiny for Gypsy, given her tumultuous past. In an interview with ABC News, while announcing her pregnancy, she addressed public skepticism head-on.
“I understand that with my past, there's gonna be a lot of people that kind of question if I even should be a mother or even have children in my care,” she said candidly. “I know that I'm not perfect. I know that I have made mistakes in the past.”
Gypsy added that while she might still make minor mistakes as a parent, she’s committed to growth and learning from her past experiences. “At the same time, I do know right from wrong, and learning from past mistakes is a growth that comes with time.”

In another interview with People, the 33-year-old expressed, "The way my mother parented me is definitely not the way I'm going to be. We always say for the next generation, we want to be better than we were raised, and so, for me, I think that couldn't be any more truthful."
Drama Surrounding Gypsy's Pregnancy
After her release in December 2023, Gypsy Rose Blanchard and Ryan Anderson faced considerable difficulties in their marriage. By March 2024, Gypsy announced their separation, explaining her desire for self-discovery and sharing that she had returned to live with her parents. The following month, in April 2024, she formally filed for divorce.
The ex-con and Ken announced in July that they were expecting their first child together after rekindling their romance. On November 5, Gypsy revealed the results of a prenatal paternity test, publicly confirming that Ken is the father of her baby, not Anderson.
As Gypsy Rose Blanchard steps into this new chapter, one thing is clear: her daughter’s privacy and safety remain her top priority.
