Two people have been charged.
Hussein Saadedeen, 20, faces charges including aggravated assault and two counts of assault with a weapon, while a youth, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is also charged with aggravated assault, two counts of assault with a weapon and carrying a concealed weapon.
Police said their investigation is ongoing.
How did it start?
A woman told CTV News that she and her friends were hanging out when they noticed a group of 10 to 15 males nearby “standing about 20 feet away from us for hours.”
She described it as “weird,” but said things only got weirder once she and several others stepped away from their group.
The woman, who wanted to remain anonymous, said they were approached by the group who asked them to go for a walk.

They refused, then heard a “clicking noise.”
She revealed to the outlet: “I looked over and he flicked out a knife. It wasn’t pointed at us, but it was clearly meant to scare us.”
The woman and her friends ran back to their group but the guys followed.
“It just felt like tension building.”
Things quickly spiralled
She admitted they “didn’t think too much of it at first” until a confrontation quickly escalated.
“It went from yelling to a fist fight,” she recalled, before one of the males “reached into a bag and pulled out a machete.”
She recalled how “people just ran” but noted that two of her friends were injured, including one who suffered multiple deep slashes.
“There was a lot of blood,” she said. “It was really bad.”
Another friend was left with little to no movement in their hand and arm after suffering serious wrist injuries.
What happened when cops showed up?
She and others briefly chased the suspects after the attack until police arrived on scene, the woman claimed.
“We didn’t want them to get away before police got there,” she said.
Three people sustained non-life-threatening injuries, including two who were taken to hospital but have since been released, police said.
