Suspensions for two of the players issued red cards over the most recent Bundesliga weekend were officially confirmed by the German FA yesterday.

Mainz's Nadiem Amiri and Dortmund's Pascal Groß will both have to sit out the duration of the 2024/25 Bundesliga "Hin-Runde" when play resumes after the brief Christmas break. Amiri will be unavailable for Mainz's forthcoming fixtures against Bochum and Leverkusen while Groß remains ineligible for BVB matches against Leverkusen and Kiel. The respective clubs accepted the suspensions without objection yesterday.

Neither player's ejection prevented their team from winning their final league fixtures of the 2024 calendar year. Mainz still prevailed against Frankfurt despite his sending off in the 21st minute. Dortmund managed to hold on against Wolfsburg even after Groß left the pitch in the 62nd. The German top flight will quickly conclude the first half of the season with two rounds in five days between January 10th and 15th.
