Maxim Dal is joining SpVgg Greuther Fürth from Bundesliga side 1.FSV Mainz 05, both clubs confirmed earlier this afternoon.

The 20-year-old is leaving Mainz after more than ten years, during which he progressed through all the youth level teams.

Dal was also part of the team that won the German A-Junior Championship in 2023 and made the last eight of the UEFA Youth League.

"Maxim is a fantastic young man who has progressed through almost all of our youth teams. He has great potential.

However, the competition for his position in our Bundesliga team is currently so fierce that the likelihood of him getting playing time there is very low.

"We are delighted that he was able to attract attention through his regular starting role with the U23 team in the Regionalliga and can now take the step up to the 2. Bundesliga.

“We wish Maxim all the very best for his future, both on and off the pitch,” said Mainz sporting director Niko Bungert upon Dal's departure.
