Germany international Nick Woltemade joined Juventus from Newcastle United on loan on the final day of the summer transfer window.

According to Germany legend Dietmar Hamann, however, the 24-year-old would have been better off staying at at the English club.

Alternatively, the 53-year-old believes Borussia Dortmund, who were also linked with the striker, would have been a better fit.

“I was surprised when I read it. I think he would have fitted in at Dortmund,” Hamann said on Sky on Tuesday evening.

"In Italy, Milan have been where the action has been in recent years. Juventus do not play in the Champions League. In terms of quality, though, they are a pretty good team

“I would have stayed at Newcastle. I would have preferred to see him move to BVB. I don’t really like the move.”
