After spending the last three seasons on loan at VfB Stuttgart, Alexander Nübel no longer has a future at Bayern Munich.

Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund confirmed to Sport1 on Saturday that the 29-year-old is not part of the club’s plans.

“We had discussions with his management, and Alex also knows about our plans,” Freund said.

Bayern are content with their goalkeeping trio of Manuel Neuer, Jonas Urbig and Sven Ulreich.

“We will go into next season with this trio – that is the plan,” Freund confirmed.

Nübel, 29, has made just four appearances for Bayern since his move from Schalke 04 in 2020.

He has spent a total of five years out on loan – two at Monaco and three at Stuttgart.
