Markus Krösche is said to be on AC Milan's shortlist following the rejection of Austria's national coach Ralf Rangnick.

According to Matteo Moretto, the Eintracht Frankfurt boss is among the leading candidates for a position in Milan's management.

The Italian club from the fashion capital are searching for a new sporting director in the wake of a wave of dismissals.

Krösche, however, has a contract with Eintracht Frankfurt running until 2028, which the club would even like to extend.

Nonetheless, should Milan initiate talks and be able to convince Krösche to join them, things could become difficult for Frankfurt.

Either way, Krösche's departure shortly before the transfer window opens would be a severe blow to the Hessen outfit.

At least he was able to resolve the coaching situation after Albert Riera's dismissal which paved the way to the return of Adi Hütter.
